Virtual delivery of a series of modules for diverse and distributed intact teams
The challenge in such a large region is that few teams are co-located, and busy schedules make face-to-face training difficult to arrange. The organization also wanted to focus on implementation and have intact teams focused on application in the real world.
Solution: focused blended virtual program
In partnership with the internal L&D team we piloted 2 modules based on a combination of online learning with expert moderation, live online virtual workshops and application sessions driven offline by line managers. This was then rolled out across the region:
- Simpler collaboration, faster decisions – to help teams focus their teamwork, reduce the number of meetings and speed up decision making
- Influence without authority – to equip individuals with a toolkit for analysing and building their networks and exercising the skills of influence without authority
Impact: increased clarity and influence
- 93% are able to apply what they learned to increase their effectiveness in their role and 95% would recommend this course to a colleague.
- 95% found the self-led activities helped them to apply the frameworks they learned.
One team started with 20% of members clear about the process used to make key decisions and finished the course with 100% clarity. In another, 27.5% of the members of a team started knowing how to apply influence without authority to achieve goals and finished the course with 100% knowing how to.
