Teleworking in a recession

An interesting article on the BBC website, flagged by consultant Tim Mitchell,Director of Global Integration, USA,  highlights the reasons people like teleworking (virtual team working), and the reasons they – their managers –  don’t.

The most telling extract:

A study by the US not-for-profit organization WorldatWork indicated the number of people working from home or another remote location for an entire day at least once a month fell from 33.7 million in 2008 to 26.2 million in 2010. When the job market is tough, it seems workers fear out of sight really does mean out of mind.
