Kill Bad Meetings, video book review
As regular readers will know we have been on a mission to reduce the number of unnecessary meetings for many years now.
This is even more important during the COVID-19 era when many of us have seen a significant increase in the number of meetings we attend when working from home
A major study based around meeting and email metadata from over 3 million users from other 21,000 organisations around the world, Collaborating during coronavirus : the impact of COVID-19 on the nature of work, from the US National Bureau of Economic Research, found
- the number of meetings per person had increased by 12.9%
- the number of attendees per meeting had increased by 13.5%
- the average length of meetings had reduced by 20.1%
So it seems we’re having more but slightly shorter meetings.
So here’s a timely book review of our book Kill Bad Meetings, the author Stuart Taylor from the Influential PMO YouTube channel attended one of our training programmes around the subject and he talks about his experiences implementing the ideas from the book. Its an excellent overview.
See more abut our training based around the principles in the book – it is designed to halve the number of meetings you attend and improve the quality of the ones that remain.
