The use of online meetings is growing fast as anyone who used to rely on face to face contact with clients and colleagues comes to terms with a world in which that might not be possible for an extended period.
Salespeople, lawyers, accountants, service providers and anyone who works from home or remotely with their colleagues will find that a lot of their interactions with others will be virtual for the foreseeable future.
We have been training people in how to run interactive online meetings for years, but today we are focusing on video.
Video is an important element of standing out in this world. People like to see faces, and research shows that video really helps in building trust and rapport and in maintaining collaboration with your customers and colleagues.
However, some people are reluctant to use video, because they don’t think it shows them at their best, or you may have seen poor use of video where people have undermined your confidence in them by the way they appeared or behaved.
We have developed a series of short videos plus workbook-based training program on how to make your best impression on video. It contains inspiration, practical tools, and some exercises on how to improve the way you look, sound and behave on video.
1. How you look – the best camera angle to use, managing your background, setting up lighting and how you appear on screen, framing and dress guidelines
2. How you sound – your verbal behaviour, tone of voice, vocal energy, sentence clarity and avoiding vocal distractions.
3. How you behave – how to manage eye contact, facial expressions, posture, body language and gestures
It only takes 15 minutes to complete (plus optional exercises you can try yourself offline) but can make a real difference to how you make and sustain a good impression online.
