We know that many of you are working hard to respond to the coronavirus outbreak. We all need to keep our people and ourselves safe.
As part of this, many people will be working from home as offices close and travel is restricted.
Some will be working from home for the first time. Others, even though they may have worked occasionally from home, will now potentially be working there for an extended period 5 days a week. This is a very different experience. Some projections are for this to be for several weeks and businesses cannot afford not to continue to operate.
As experts in remote working, we’ve been thinking about how we can help you with your efforts and we have put together a free short video based on our experience of 25 years of training people to work remotely.
This and any future videos will be shared via our dedicated Vimeo channel on working from home during the COVID 19 crisis

Most of us already have access to the technology tools to work from home remotely (though we could use them better), our focus is on the human and behavioural aspects; how we communicate, get things done together and maintain a sense of community when we work remotely.
The video is an introduction to some of the benefits and challenges of working from home, together with a few practical tips and ideas that may help inspire and enable people new to this experience.
You can access the video here. You can stream or download this freely and use it with as many of your people as you like with no charge and no restrictions except maintaining our copyright notice.
We are working hard with our clients to move our face to face training to virtual delivery (luckily half of it was virtual or online learning already) and have been heartened by their determination to continue supporting and developing their people even in these unprecedented times
Part 2 of this series is also now available Building community and coping with isolation and loneliness when working from home
We are focusing on
Running webinars for people new to working from home and for managers new to managing remote work
Training people in the facilitation skills needed to run better and more interactive online meetings through WebEx, skype, MS Teams, Zoom etc..
