Leading digital teams teams training - skills and tools for leading people and working together during and after digital transformation

Digital teams need new skills, new ways of working and a culture that breaks down barriers to digital transformation.

Leading digital teams is about principles before tools. We help you clarify what you want to achieve and build the best ways of working to achieve it. Typical content includes

  • Accelerating technology adoption – how to speed up the way different groups of people adopt new tools and adapt your way of working to the opportunities that technology brings.
  • Failing fast and managing risk – using iterative working and a Minimal Viable Product approach to accelerate learning and experimentation.
  • Leading for Speed – lean and agile principles in action – cutting out unnecessary work to meet, decide and deliver faster.
  • Autonomous teams and emergent leadership – building and supporting autonomous teams and enabling distributed leadership to emerge.
  • Moving from hierarchy to networks and influence – developing the skills to build, improve and activate your network to get things done and influence without authority.

A McKinsey study found that enterprise changes such as business skills, incentives and operating models have fifteen times more impact on the likelihood of success in digital transformation than changes in digital technologies alone.

They also found that the three main barriers to digital success were culture (leadership systems and feedback) skills (training and compensation) and organization (silos getting in the way).

In many cases agile working techniques are being introduced to support digital transformation. In others, organizations are still struggling to fully implement matrix management to overcome the silo working that can slow down digital change.

We focus on building the specific leadership and collaboration practices, way of working  and culture that enable and accelerate digital transformation. In a post-COVD world we will often need to deliver this virtually, rather than face-to-face.
