New ways of working – join our free experience sharing webinars

Many of our clients have set up specific projects to look at new ways of working. We have been helping them share experiences and learn from each other, would you like to take part?

The current pandemic has shown that true resilience comes from flexibility in ways of working. Many organizations that were previously resistant to working from home have had positive experiences and realised the opportunities for both individuals and the organization as a whole. Others have accelerated an existing trend towards more flexible forms of working

We have all now experienced that sustainable remote working requires more than giving people a stable internet connection. It requires us to build new skills and infrastructure, and support new ways of working.

It is also not just about remote working. Most of the participants on our experience sharing webinars are looking beyond remote working to also consider how people work together in more integrated “matrixed” cross functional teams and how to incorporate elements of agile working and preparing their people for digital transformation.

Any one of these is a major change in ways of working, to make progress on all of them requires substantial effort.

Some organizations are focusing on training people in sustainable working from home and developing new policies and practises to embed this. Others are setting up substantial cross functional teams to look at new ways of working, the future of the office, technology infrastructure and the implications for corporate culture and leadership.

In the first two of our working sessions we set up small virtual breakout groups for people working on these topics in our clients to share experiences, priorities and how we could help each other. We set up a closed LinkedIn group, some core discussion documents on Google docs and have 4 workstreams now working on priorities identified by those meetings.

Before the meetings we share a discussion paper on what we have learned so far from 30 years of specializing in new ways of working so we can focus the live time on breakout discussions.

We now want to extend this offer to other organizations. If you work in an organization, are focusing on new ways of working and would like to share your challenges and learning with similar people in other organizations, please let us know and we will add you to the invite list for our next session on 10th December for 90 minutes starting at 14:00 Central European Time, 13:00 UK, 09:00 Eastern Time. We will only be inviting internal organization representatives at this stage, not consultants.
