Video, Rod Farnan, Global Integration
Edited transcript for those unable to view due to their device or location:
My name’s Rod Farnan and I’ve worked for Global Integration for over ten years. During that time, I’ve worked with many of the top fifty global companies.
Having worked in the pharmaceutical industry for the majority of my career, it was kind of comforting to learn that the challenges I had working in a large global organization were pretty much the same as those faced by my Global Integration clients.
Increasing complexity, often with constant reorganization, seems
to be the biggest challenge faced by most of the people I work with right now. And I guess if I had to choose a message that I would like to emphasize, it would be that the ambiguity that most people are feeling during this process is going to be constant.
A complex matrix organization, deliberately trades clarity for flexibility. The matrix formalizes that ambiguity, and makes it permanent, so people need new skills and tools to address this twenty first century reality.

I look forward to speaking with you.
