Is there a cost to enter the competition?
No. The competition is free.
I can’t access YouTube in my country, or from my offices, but want to enter the competition. What should I do?
Contact Global Integration, and we’ll work with you to find an alternative way to enter.
Can Global Integration employees or competition judges enter the competition?
No. Sorry! This would be unfair and discourage entries.
Can people related to Global Integration employees enter the competition?
Yes, as long as they don’t mention their relationship on the entries that the judges see. The only exception is relatives of CEO Kevan Hall, who is also a judge.
Can people related to the judges enter the competition?
No, although people who work with them may. The other judges will be aware of the fact from the web details on the entry and behave accordingly.
I’ve posted my entry to the site, but it hasn’t appeared yet
Give it 24 hours – it may have been held for moderation. If it still hasn’t appeared, contact Global Integration, and we’ll try to find out what’s happening.
What exactly is the “public voting”? Is it Views or Likes on YouTube? Perhaps Likes on www.global-integration.com itself?
The votes that count are the ones against the submission itself on the video competition website. In this, non-eligible, example, you’ll see the the sharing buttons underneath the video: http://www.global-integration.com/video-competition/entries/global-working-thoughts-on-a-complex-world.html
These are the numbers that count for the top 20 shortlist.
It looks like the submission period is until January 31, but the voting process only goes to January 31 as well
It’s been extended for a week – but that’s an oincentive to get your video up quickly!
There is no suggested length of time for the video, how long would you say is an appropriate amount of time?
This was deliberate. Most people’s attention span can only run for 3-5 minutes at most. But if your subject is compelling, there’s no reason it can’t be longer or shorter.
Is the topic of “global working” meant to be vague? (Can I speak about globalisation in specific terms as well as generally?)
What global working means to people will be something completely different. We’re interested in having these perspectives.
How does the selection of the winner work, is it by voting or by judges, if there are judges then what are the facebook votes for?
The votes will give the judges a shortlist of 20 to review.
If selected, how does the prize get delivered?
Cash will be paid to the person who made the entry. We will reach out to them and make appropriate arrangements.
I’ve just voted, but the vote isn’t reflected in the side bar on your site.
The side bar updates once an hour. Have faith! It will catch up.
What time is the deadline on the 31st?
11.59 local time (where posted)
There were a lot of questions about copyright posted to our Facebook page. This is really useful information: YouTube Guide to Copyright
